The Road by Cormac McCarthy
I picked this gem up at the suggestion of my son. He's a huge movie fan and knew they were working on the movie. I read the book in about five hours. For me it was a page turner for sure. McCarthy's style in the use of dialogue flows seamlessly. The Man and his son are on a journey in a post-apocalyptic world unable to trust anyone but each other and the deep seeded desire to keep the hope of life alive. Together they face odds that most could never envision yet Cormac McCarthy brings to startling life.
I have since seen the movie but don't want to be a spoiler.
I give this one 5 stars.
